| What happens during my yearly
eye exam? Like the other two keys to
your overall health – your doctor and your dentist – your yearly
Optometric exam is a great check on your overall health. Your eyes
provide an “early warning system” for many problems, from high blood
pressure to nutritional deficiencies, as well as for specific eye
problems.
The first thing to remember is that your
Optometric exam is painless and quick. You'll usually take less than
half an hour for the examination. State of the art examination
equipment and advanced training for your Doctor of Optometry means
you get accurate and fast diagnoses of any problems you may have.
Even Glaucoma testing – a must for patients over 40 – is painless
now, thanks to modern equipment.
Your eyes will be dilated with eyedrops, and
then you'll receive your exam, with the Doctor giving your eyes a
visual exam, followed by a detailed technical exam with
state-of-the-art equipment. At the end, your Optometrist will
consult with you on his or her findings, including general health
issues and eyesight correction needs. He or she will make sure all
your questions are answered.
That's it! We look forward to hearing from
you. Make that appointment today. Your eyes and your general health
depend on it.

Please note: If you also being evaluated for contact lenses in
the same visit as your regular exam, remember that it is a
different clinic service requiring different assessments, and
thus carries an additional cost. |
